Our chaperone/volunteer needs are:

As the event date draws closer, more info will be posted regarding volunteers/chaperones on the VOLUNTEER TO HELP page. We encourage everyone to chaperone and volunteer -  participate in whatever way you're able especially for our main fundraiser, the San Joaquin Valley Jazz Festival in February. And if enough money is raised, we need all hands on hand for the Reno Jazz Fest in April. Reno is very hectic and busy and often half of the bands need to be on opposite sides of the campus minutes after a performance so lots of parent help is desperately needed to make it all run smoother. Please contact Denise to get signed up for any event NOW!! Contact Roberta if you have any questions about the 2010 SJVJF. It's never too early to get started.

The  09-10 syllabus includes the rehearsal schedule for both "A" & "B" bands and a listing of all Jazz band guidelines as well as competition dates. As the time gets nearer to a competition or event, the itinerary for that event will be posted on the FORMS page.  Keep in mind that we want to provide you with the most up to date info as possible so I usually won't receive the event itinerary until several days before the event so we can get as much info on it for you as possible. Please understand that I get the info out to you as soon as humanly possible after I receive it from Mr. Lucckesi. If you feel you have missed something, or I have missed something, don't hesitate to email the webmaster, or Mr. Lucckesi. We encourage you to share your input, and feedback!

Jazz Dress

Formal / dress attire is recommended for all Jazz competitions, and performances. If you don't have a suit or dress clothes see the list on the Freshman Info/Tips page for local stores that have suits at resonable prices. Also, check out the PARENT TO PARENT WANT ADS for gently used dress clothes. Kids grow so fast at this age, purchasing gently used clothing at bargain prices just makes good sense!

ASI JAZZ PARENTS!!! Did you know that you can participate in most of the FUNdraising opportunities offered by the Buchanan Band Boosters Steering Committee and earn money for the program?? YES, you can! Don't hold back because it says Buchanan, or it's not Jazz. Step right up and start getting involved now. You'll not only be having a great time supporting the program, but you'll get a good idea of what's ahead for your student in the coming years when he/she gets to Buchanan. AND, you'll meet a great group of people along the way as well. Contact any of the boosters listed, or music directors if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon.
